Question to children:

What did Moses learn from his mother Jochebed?

Answer:   To serve the true God. "So the woman took the child and nursed him." Exodus 2:9b.

Question to intermediates:

What does the pitch in Moses' basket represent?

Answer:   The Holy Spirit, who guards our hearts from evil. "...she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank." Exodus 2:3b.

Question to adolescents:

Read Hebrews chapter 11, verse 23, and answer: What led Moses' parents not to fear Pharaoh when Moses was born?

Answer:   True faith. They believed that God would deliver Moses from death and were victorious. “By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.” Heb 11:23.
