Topic: The Miracles of Jesus
Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. John 4:50
The purpose of the lesson is to teach that Jesus is the Word of God and that we are to hear, believe, and trust His Word.

Introduction
Who here has ever needed the help of dad or mom? When we have a problem, we look for someone to help us. Today we are going to hear the story of a father who went through a very sad time. He went to Jesus and learned an important lesson.
Development
After turning the water into wine, Jesus returned to Cana in Galilee. There was an important man there. He was an officer of the king. But he was very sad because his son was very sick. When he heard that Jesus was there, he quickly went to find Him. When he came to Jesus, he asked, “Lord, come down to help my son!” Jesus answered, “Go your way; your son lives.” John 4:50b.
The man trusted the Word of Jesus and returned home. On the way, his servants came running and said, “Your son lives!” The father was overjoyed. He found that the boy had improved just as Jesus spoke (John 4:53). What a joy! Jesus performed a great miracle, and the whole family began to believe in the Lord.
This father’s story teaches us something very important: when a big problem appeared, he went to Jesus. He believed the Word of the Lord and saw the miracle happen.
Today we too can trust Jesus. When we are afraid, sad, sick, or when someone in our family needs help, we can say a prayer. Jesus hears us and cares for us. The king’s official heard Jesus say, “Go your way; your son lives.” John 4:50b. He did not see the miracle at the same time, but he believed Jesus’ Word and returned home.
Jesus also speaks to us through the Bible. When we hear a story in Bible School, pay attention in the service, or listen to God’s Word at home, Jesus is speaking to our hearts. Jesus is God’s Word. Therefore, we should enjoy listening to Bible stories and learn everything the Lord wants to teach us. When we listen to God’s Word, our faith grows. This is how we learn to trust Jesus every day.
Conclusion
The king’s official heard Jesus’ Word, trusted it, and saw the miracle happen. Today, Jesus also speaks to us through His Word. The more we hear God’s Word, the more we learn to trust in the Lord. Let’s ask God to help us hear, believe, and obey His Word every day.
